County Units

The first meetings of our County Guide and Ranger Units took place on Monday 13th February, at Hesley Wood Guide House. Girls enjoyed an action packed morning completing activities from the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) World Thinking Day Activity Pack received the World Thinking Day 2023 badge. The activities were based around this years theme of: “Our world, our peaceful future” and focused on the environment and peace.

The Guides made origami flowers to show that peace can come from natural harmony and thought about the importance off balance in the natural world.

The Rangers made wind chimes and everybody enjoyed a community building game thinking about creating balance with the worlds resources. The girls also enjoyed a photo scavenger hunt outside and baking of vegan Girl Scout cookies!

The County based Guide and Ranger units are open to all girls aged 10-18 whether they are currently involved in Guiding or not. The units are based at Hesley Wood Guide House and meet during school holidays to offer a flexible approach to Guiding for girls who cannot commit to a weekly meeting. Existing Guides and Rangers can attend in addition to their weekly meetings to offer a wider range of experiences to girls.

The next meeting will take place on Monday 3rd April from 9am – 12 noon.
