County Rainbow & Brownie Activity Day

On Tuesday 13th February, thirty two Rainbows and Brownies from across the County spent the day at Hesley Wood Guide House for a fun filled activity day. The day was popular and fully booked very quickly!

The girls started the day with fun outside

Playing with giant connect four, grass skis, balls, skittles etc… Then a whole group session playing gameswith a HUGE parachute!

Rain stopped play!

As the rain startted we headed back inside for the Rainbows to get messy creating season trees as part of their Nature badge and the Brownies played Beetle Drive.

Flippin’ Afternoon Fun

We couldn’t have an activity day on Shrove Tuesday without some pancakes. The girls all helped to make their own pancake batter and the Brownies headed in to the kitchen to cook their own. They all enjoyed a pancake with their choice of topping, thanks to Morrisons for their donation.

Lots of creative fun was had with the girls making friendship bracelets, scoobies, pop up cards and Hama bead pictures.

Time to blow away the cobwebs!

We headed out to explore the Hesley Wood site ending with time to play in the play area.

Finishing off with some free time to play with an assortment of board games, jigsaws, colouring sheets or finish off their crafty activites from earlier in the day. It was great to see those girls who had been nervous at the start of the day playing with their new found friends.

It was a great day which couldn’t have gone ahead without the great volunteers who gave up their time to help run the day. We are always looking for leaders to help support the running of county events so please contact us at assistantcountycommissioner@girlguidingsouthyorkshire.org.uk if interested.

Watch this space for more activity days in the future!
