County Trading

Girlguiding South Yorkshire offers unit leaders the opportunity to order any item available in the Girlguiding trading catalogue or Girlguiding’s Trading website via our Volunteer Shop Manager. This enables you to purchase badges, uniform, programme resources and other Guiding items via county rather than buying directly from Girlguiding. The benefit to units is that County pays the postage costs, and we still manage to make a profit due to discounts we receive. Units who spend more than £120 in any given year receive a rebate to unit funds as well.

In addition to the items available from trading, leaders can also order ‘restricted’ items such as Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides & Rangers. For each level, there are woven badges at £1.10, metal pin badges at £2.15, and certificates at 70p. Any combination can be given to a girl.

As these awards are ‘restricted’, they can only be purchased through County channels i.e. via our Volunteer Shop Manager/County Badge Secretary, but they can be purchased as part of a larger trading order as well. As restricted items, they should only be ordered as needed and NOT held in stock by units. Purchased by themselves, they would be exempt from postage charges.
